Experience the spectacular views of Nuuk Fjord from the 1,003-metre summit of Oriartorfik.

For most of the way, the climb to Oriartorfik is moderately challenging. But when you reach the summit, you’ll feel like you’re standing on top of the world.

The route to the summit is incredibly scenic, taking you through beautiful and remote Greenlandic wilderness. The terrain can be demanding, but the reward is a unique mountain experience and spectacular views across the fjord.

We offer two ways to reach the summit. The Boat & Long Hike is for experienced and fit hikers, while the Oriartorfik Extreme Running Experience is an even more demanding adventure for highly experienced trail runners.

BOAT & LONG HIKE

Travel with your guide by boat into Kobbe Fjord and land at the base of the mountain. From here, we hike through remote and almost untouched terrain to the summit.

At the top, take time to enjoy the spectacular views before descending with your guide to the pick-up point, where the charter boat will collect you for the return journey.

Difficulty: 7/10 — For experienced and fit hikers only.

Duration: Full-day adventure, approximately 8–10 hours.

ORIARTORFIK EXTREME RUNNING EXPERIENCE

Join your guide on an extreme trail-running adventure from the edge of Nuuk through Paradise Valley, across the mountains and down into Kobbe Fjord through rock-slide areas and highly technical terrain.

From the fjord, we climb to the 1,003-metre summit of Oriartorfik for spectacular views before returning via the same route.

The total distance is approximately 40 km with 3,000 metres of elevation gain, almost entirely through Greenlandic wilderness with little or no established trail.

An unforgettable adventure — but an extremely demanding one.

AVAILABILITY

Summer and fall, before the snow arrives. Tours are operated on suitable weather days only.

Pricing is based on the total number of guests:

1–3 guests: 10,800 DKK
4 guests: 12,000 DKK
5 guests: 13,000 DKK
6 guests: 13,800 DKK

INCLUDED

Guide, snacks and safety equipment. Boat transfer is included for the Boat & Long Hike option.

NOT INCLUDED

Insurance, meals and personal energy supplies.

Transportation to the starting point is not included but can be added.

GETTING TO THE TRAIL

A. Get to the trail yourself — taxi or bus
We will provide detailed information on how to get to the meeting point.

B. Guide pick-up — 650 DKK + 100 DKK per guest
If you book guide pick-up as an extra, the guide will meet you at the cultural centre and take you to the starting point.
